BioWell, I'm shy and don't like to talk about myself online, so this is a stretch for me.
I write for teens, mostly the 14-and-older crowd. My latest book, POWERS, will be released (or has been released, depending on when you are reading this!) in September of 2006. My first book, THE SAME DIFFERENCE, came out in 2000. It was written for younger teens/preteens.
I grew up in Canada, the setting for POWERS, and have a great fondness for Victoria Day, Canada Day and the August long weekend. There's no reason for the August long weekend, really. We just needed a three-day holiday, so we made one up. Great country, that Canada, eh?
I still say "eh" on occasion. This is pronounced as the first letter of the alphabet--A.
I love food with bold flavors--Indian, Mexican, Greek, Ukrainian (takes me back to my roots) as well as food in its most natural state--sashimi, wild blueberries, home grown tomatoes...
Maybe I'm not that shy after all! I appear to disclose quite easily.
My next book, CHOICES, comes out in the fall of 2007.
And after that? I'm working on it.
